It was a jam-packed episode as we got to hear stories of Brandon and his brother putting together a sideshow act. We also discussed some of the benefits to performing on a limited budget. Some of which are: being resourceful, getting to think outside of the typical creative box and putting a personal touch on your props. We then got the details on his new DVD, 'The Changes'. The project consists of 2 versatile color changes, one of which was his own original creation  The DVD is slated for release this May and is being distributed by the folks over at System 6 Magic.

Paul Vigil: Magic, Mindreading and Mystery

Former guest, Magician, Paul Vigil has been mesmerizing audiences at the King Ink Tattoo Parlor and Lounge in The Mirage for the last 3 years. It had become one of the most highly regarded hidden gems in the city of Las Vegas. It's not often that you can find a show on The Strip with no admission but that's exactly what Paul offered. A high caliber, fine tuned, mind blowing show for free. That era came to a close several weeks ago, and the crew of Mystifyed Live was there witness it.

Fellow entertainers, tourists and locals packed the lounge to catch a glimpse of the man who famously fooled Magicians, Penn and Teller. The energy was high as Paul captivated the audience with his magic, sophistication and charm. His coin routine saw four quarters travel from one side of the table to the other. He paid tribute to the magicians of the past by performing the classic Egg Bag routine; causing an egg to appear and disappear without explanation. With plenty of laughs, crowd participation, and of course, moments of mystery, the evening came to a close with a well deserved standing ovation.

We want to congratulate Paul on a fantastic last show. He has contributed a great deal to the magic community and will no doubt continue to leave his mark wherever he goes. As we mentioned, Paul was a formerly a guest on Mystifyed Live. If you would like to check out our interview with Paul as well as the special bonus footage from his appearance on our show, you can download it for free on iTunes and check out the recap HERE.

Winning With Jeff Civillico

www.WinWinEntertainment.org
Las Vegas Juggler and Comedian, Jeff Civilico, is also the founder of a local organization called Win-Win Entertainment. The organization connects with charities in the Las Vegas area and provides them with entertainers for many of their events. Some of the charities include: The Boulder City Hospital Foundation, Aid for AIDS of Nevada, American Cancer Society of Las Vegas and many others. When he is not performing daily at the Quad Hotel and Casino, he is giving back to the community in hopes of spreading joy to those who need it most.

The idea for Win-Win Entertainment started after Jeff performed a series of charity shows while still in college. He found extreme reward in doing these shows and it was something very dear to his heart, but now he was looking to do it in an even bigger way. He began to connect with other entertainers who shared the same joys and Win-Win was born. Former guests of Mystifyed Live, Justin Flom and Aaron Radatz have signed up to be apart of this amazing group along with many other Vegas entertainers.

Mystifyed Live Reviews: The Incredible Burt Wonderstone

Steve Carell As "Burt Wonderstone" on 'Magic Magazine'
After years of waiting, magic is back in theaters thanks to the release of 'The Incredible Burt Wonderstone'! The film has been the talk of the magic community long before it was officially announced over a year and a half ago. It was a really enjoyable movie and we wanted to give you our thoughts on this highly anticipated release.

The movie begins in a manner familiar to most magicians. Burt discovers magic thanks to a kit that his mom got him for his birthday. Throughout his discovery he gains confidence and eventually forms a partnership with his best friend. The two go on to become headliners in Vegas and are faced with twists and turns along the way. One thing that sticks throughout a majority of the film is the personification of many classic magic stereotypes. We see everything from wild costumes and elaborate presentations, to plenty of corny catchphrases. Although the movie pokes fun at magicians, it is done in a tasteful and non-offensive way. As magicians, we know our idiosyncrasies very well and can laugh at ourselves.

After reading other reviews labeling the movie to be lack-luster, it seems that people had felt that pairing Steve Carell and Jim Carrey in a movie once again would bring the same level of humor as in other movies in which they co-stared. It simply took a different direction focusing on self discovery and encouraging the audience to push themselves to the next level. However, the movie did not fall short in humorous moments.  We felt it was a good blend of comedy and inspiration. It gave a humorous but honest look at some of the things magicians face as they go through life. The story mixes in what it's like to taste success, having to make difficult changes, and re-discovering magic, all while learning about yourself and what magic really means to you.

Overall the film was fantastic.  If you enjoy an inspiring story, witty comedy, and a little bit of magic, then this movie is a must see! We would love to hear your thoughts. Leave us a comment below.

Sean O'Shea Drops A New EP

Former guest, Singer / Songwriter Sean O'Shea, has recently released a brand new EP titled the Heartbeat Life! It contains four brand new songs that he hopes will motivate and inspire those who listen. We recently got a chance to sit down and take a listen and here is what we thought of his latest work.

The EP showcases Sean at his best. He explores the complicated feelings of love and lust with songs like "Sidekick Wanted" and "If You'll Let Me". As a songwriter he looks to inspire with the powerful lyrics of "Heartbeat Intentions" and even showcases his beatboxing skills. The entire project provides listeners with a look inside the mind of a truly talented musician. His message of enjoying life is evident and with such an uplifting vibe, this music will make people smile.

We also got word that Sean is campaigning to play on this years Warped Tour! He was close to playing last year's event at the acoustic tent, but it was cancelled at the last moment.  He hopes to play at this years tour stop in Darrian Lake in Upstate New York!

We hope that you will take the time to check out the Heartbeat Life EP. If you would like to purchase a copy, you can do so by clicking HERE. Make sure you vote as often as you can to help Sean get to the Warped Tour! You can cast your vote by visiting BattleoftheBands.com.
